Kathleen Schneider has been painting original, one-of-a-kind wedding cards for the last couple years. These are beautiful watercolors that can be framed by the couple after their wedding and kept for a lifetime! Here is one of her latest. "I enjoy painting all of my original wedding cards but the ones similar to the one below are my favorites. They are so colorful, full of detail and represent timeless traditions."
We are proud to hear that fabric artist Sharon Bottle Souva is one of 15 artists whose work was selected for the permanent art collection at SUNY Brockport. "Into The Light", a 54” square contemporary wall quilt will hang in the new Liberal Arts building which will be dedicated on September 19th at 10 AM. Congratulations Sharon!
We are pleased to announce that our potter Sallie Thompson is included in a juried show of the Syracuse Ceramic Guild at the Everson Art Museum in Syracuse. The show is titled Salt City Clay: Selected Works by Syracuse Ceramic Guild. It opens on 8/30/14 with a reception/opening on 9/19/14 5:30 -8, The show runs from 8/30/14-1/11/15. The opening on 9/19 will have performance art by the Signal Culture Artists. Tickets for the reception/opening are $15 non members and $5 members. In addition to the performance pieces there will be live music, hors d'oeuvres and cash bar. This is an exciting show at a wonderful venue. For anyone not familiar with it, The Everson Art Museum was designed by Architect I.M. Pei and is one of Syracuse's finest and most noteworthy buildings. The museum has a fabulous permanent collection with a fine selection of Arts and Crafts furniture and a very extensive collection of centuries of ceramics. It's rotating shows are always worth checking out. Hope you can make it!
